Situated at a height of 2050 metres Vijaypur rests on a ridge overlooking the magnificent Himalayan range. On a clear day the Vijaypur offers one of the most breathtaking views of the entire range from Chaukhamba, Neel Kanth, Hathi Parvat, Trishul, Nanda Devi, Nanda Kot, to Panchchuli and Appi (Annapurna) peaks.

The picturesque valley around Vijaypur is dotted by tiny villages where no one is in a rush to get anywhere. Occasionally the peace of Vijaypur Wayfarer Retreat is disturbed by a pack of red-billed blue magpies quarreling amongst themselves. Here at Vijaypur, nature is at its unadulterated best.

At times watching a sunrise on Nanda Kot from the Vijaypur Wayfarer Retreat can remain etched in one's memory forever.

The accommodation at Vijaypur Wayfarer Retreat is a mix of hill cottages, constructed from stone, wood, bamboo and thatch. At Vijaypur Wayfarer Retreat there are six rooms, all tastefully furnished, with attached fully tiled toilets with running cold water. Hot water is supplied in buckets. Outside every cottage is an enclosure for guests to sit out in deck chairs and relax. You also have the option of stretching out in one of the hammocks slung across the pine trees. Vijaypur Wayfarer Retreat receives electricity from its own generator.

Vijaypur Wayfarer Retreat has a separate dining and lounge area built out of stone and wood with large windows that open out into the Himalayas. The restaurant of Vijaypur Wayfarer Retreat serves Indian and continental cuisine. Next to the restaurant is the bonfire pit and barbecue area which become active after sun down.

For night journey avoid Kaladhungi Forest Road,take a diversion from Rampur Chauraha to Rudrapur which shall connect to Almora (139 Km) via Pantnagar University-Lal Kua-Kathgodam Bypass-Jeolikote-Bhowali- Khairna Garampani- Almora- KaparKhan- Kangarchina-Bageshwar or vice versa for the back journey.
